2010 Lincoln MKZ Starts at $34,965

Ford has announced the pricing for the redesigned 2010 Lincoln MKZ.

The 2010 Lincoln MKZ now features more standard features and starts at $34,965. The MKZ now comes standard with Bridge Weir leather seats, genuine wood trim, heated and cooled front seats, the popular SYNC entertainment and connectivity system, a reverse sensing system and driver multi-adjustable power seat.

The MKZ is also available with the Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert.

"Customers universally are surprised when they get into a competing vehicle and find out that they have to pay more for luxury features, such as premium leather seats," said Jonathan Richards, Lincoln MKZ Marketing manager. "That's what sets the MKZ apart from the competition. It comes standard with all the features you would expect from a world class entry-level luxury sedan."

The front-wheel-drive MKZ starts at $34,965 and the all-wheel-drive version starts at $36,855.

Has Chrysler Killed Development of its Phoenix V6 Engines?

There has been so much Chrysler news this week with the possibility of a GM/ Chrysler merger in the headlines. Now there are rumors that Chrysler has killed the development of its new $3 billion Phoenix V6 engine program.

The killing of its new V6 engine program makes sense if Chrysler is about to merge with GM or even Renault/ Nissan. Both GM and Nissan have their own V6 engines that are definitely better than anything currently under the hood of a Chrysler. Last week Chrysler also killed the development of dual-clutch automatic transmissions. According to analysts a Chrysler merger is expected and Chrysler doesn't need to spend money on engine and transmission programs if GM and Renault/Nissan already have them.

Production Chevy Volt to be Officially Unveiled in Less than Two Weeks

Last week we saw our first glimpses of the production version of the Chevy Volt on the set of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. GM has released a few teaser photos, but the grainy pics from last week were much better...Now to coincide with GM's 100th anniversary, GM is going to officially unveil their most highly anticipated new model.

Ford May Add a New Compact Vehicle to the Lincoln Lineup

Ford's product development chief Derrick Kuzak recently sat down with the Automotive News and revealed that Ford may add a new smaller vehicle to the Lincoln lineup.

GM May Keep Existing Brands but Kill Overlapping Models

It's widely known that GM is currently conducting a review of the HUMMER brand which will most likely result in the brand being sold or eventually killed. GM is claiming that no other brands are currently under review.

Will the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Manage to Beat the Nissan GT-R's Nurburgring Time?

Yesterday Nissan announced that the Nissan GT-R completed a lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7:29. That announcement may be put to rest sooner than later if GM engineers manage to pull it off. They are hard at work on the 2009 Chevy Corvette ZR1. Last week GM released official stats, 638 horsepower and 604 lb-ft of torque. GM also released a video of the car reaching 205 mph on the track.
